Volunteer Positions at Whitgift SNAP
Our disabled children and young people live in Croydon and often do not have access to popular mainstream activities in the borough. SNAP exists to provide them with fun and stimulating activity schemes, providing the children and young people with opportunities they may not otherwise experience, and their families with much needed respite.
We have approximately 260 positions available for volunteers each year, and our young people cannot benefit without volunteer support! Please note that all volunteers must be aged 16 years on or before Friday 13th July 2012 to participate on the 2012 summers schemes. We provide all the training you need and make sure you are not stretched beyond your level of experience and ability. At the end of your time on the Project you will receive a certificate detailing the number of hours you have spent volunteering for SNAP. Volunteers attend the Project from 8.30am to 4.30pm each day.
Applications for volunteer positions on the proposed 2012 summer schemes are now closed.
Everyone who attended an interview for a volunteer position, and all returning volunteer applicants, will be contacted via post during the week commencing 21st May 2012 to be advised whether or not they have been offered a position and during which weeks of the Project.
Applicants who are successful at interview will be required to attend a training day. These will be held on Saturday 14th July 2012 and Monday 23rd July 2012 - attendance on one of these days is compulsory and is a pre-requisite for participation on scheme. Offers of a position will also be subject to satisfactory references and an Enhanced Criminal Records check.
